lavanya and matt . . . theirs was a whirlwind engagement: lavanya and matt were engaged in May, married in India in July, and married again in Columbia in September.
I would loved to have seen matt and his parents experience lavanya and matt's indian wedding . . . what an amazing few days that must have been for these Oklahoma natives. And they got to do it all over again back in the states. thank you thank you thank you, lavanya and matt, for hiring silverbox to photograph your wedding here in columbia. it was WONDERFUL . . . here are some highlights i enjoy remembering:
~ lavanya's aunties helping her to drape her sari and put on jewelry;
~ bridesmaids getting their first lesson in sari draping
~ lavanya's huge smile as she tapped on matt's shoulder for their "first glance" in Shelter Gardens before the ceremony;
~ lavanya wiping tears from matt's face during the ceremony;
~ the gorgeous "lehenga" that lavanya changed into for the reception;
~ both sets of parents and siblings sitting at the head table with matt & lavanya during the reception;
~ heartfelt toasts that had everyone laughing AND crying;
~ matt's declaration of love to lavanya during the toasts; if ever there was a groom who wore his heart and his love for his bride on his sleeve, it is Matt!
~ hands-down THE BEST reception food i've ever eaten (and rumor has it that lavanya's mother prepared the indian spread herself!);
~ matt's dance with his mother, complete with a big bear hug just for her;
~ paper lanterns rising, glowing above the parking lot ("just like in Tangled!" exclaimed Sophie, my 9-year old daughter).
take a look below at some of my favorites pictures to see just what I mean. But really, to fully enjoy their day, you have to see their wedding day slideshow by clicking here!
