"The groom's a JAWHAWK through and through. The bride's a TIGER ~ what to do?
Their love is sweet, so let's not fight. But have a treat and enjoy the night!"
Both now living in Boston, Kristen brought Tyler home to Tiger Country for the "I-dos" and, as an architect, Kristen was smitten with Firestone-Baars Chapel on Stephens College campus for their ceremony setting. The chapel was designed by renowned architect Eero Saarinen, famous for his design of the Gateway Arch, the tulip chair and The Setting where Kristen Steinhoff became Kristen Harrelson. :)
[***Slight correction especially interesting to those who love architecture: It was Eero's FATHER who was first commissioned for the chapel, note the fascinating story found here.]
Knowing that Firestone-Baars would be the ceremony site, the Steinhoffs booked Historic Senior Hall as the getting-ready spot for the women of the bridal party. PERFECT! Senior Hall meant not only that the girls and Kristen's parents would be able to walk over at the ceremony; it gave SilverBox a lovely AIR-CONDITIONED space for before-the-wedding photos. Here's the very moment her dad sees Kristen in her wedding dress for the first time..he'd just walked in:
mmmmm.... love. love. love:
A favorite moment [and reason why SilverBox insists on 2 professional photographers at all of our weddings] follows. These 2 verticals were taken at almost the same time as the horizontal below it. Isn't that the greatest? Mr. Steinhoff was thanking his wife for all she did to make this day a reality. Note Kristen's response in that jaw-dropping playful paper-lantern pic where you can really see the crowd. Hip hip hooray!
And there's SO MUCH MORE -- including a sparkler send-off! Here, take a peek: Kristen + Tyler's Highlight Slideshow.
