Drum roll please. We are SO EAGER to share pictures from our recent win-your-DIY-wedding Texas adventure with the delightful Ginny + David. Working together on this wedding with the talented Kristen of Hoot Design Co and Natalie of The Bridal Solution, was a SilverBox dream come true!
We didn't meet Ginny and David until right before their rehearsal . . . which is rare for us at SilverBox. Whenever possible, we try to get to know our couples face-to-face well in advance of their wedding. But in this case, Ginny and David had applied to our contest from Texas, and all we knew about them we learned from their application. Our instincts, however, (that these two would win OUR hearts AND YOURS) were spot on. So let us introduce our endearing contest winners to YOU, silver lining reader.
First, meet Ginny who described herself in our contest's application as: romantic, ambitious, thrifty. (And we could sure add to that list: delightful, tender-hearted, fun-loving and SO easy to work with!)
We sure loved the traditional Korean dress Ginny's mom wore in the midst of the rural Texas backdrop. And the setting was particularly fitting: Ginny and David are big time Longhorn fans.
And meet David: our generous, kind and quick-to-smile groom whom we could tell was well-loved and surrounded by friends:
Not only were we smitten with Ginny and David, we were also head-over-heels excited to photograph at their venue, Howell Family Farms, located in Arlington, TX. It's situated only minutes from downtown Arlington, but it's a laid back, rural setting complete with a 5,000 square foot barn AND a cozy cottage AND grazing cattle and gorgeous fields. In short, it was THE perfect location for every stage of Ginny and David's wedding day.
The beautifully renovated arts & crafts era cottage (complete with a wrap-around porch) provided a comfortable AND elegant space for Ginny and her bridesmaids to dress.
Adjacent to the barn is a beautiful outdoor ceremony area lined with tall trees:
After saying "I do", Ginny and David could walk straight down the aisle and into the elegant two-story rustic barn, adorned with chandeliers and a Texas barbecue feast, for the reception.
Ginny and David won not only wedding photography, but also assistance in planning their wedding and designing wedding stationery. Natalie of The Bridal Solution is one of those rare and special individuals who is both organized AND creative. She helped with the smooth flow of the day AND with decor:
Kristen of Hoot Design Co designed Ginny and David's invitations . . . perfect at setting the stage for Ginny and David's rustic-yet-elegant setting.
And Kim's talented glass artist friend, Marcia of Wileyware, sent the couple two of her hand-blown shot glasses. Cheers!
ok, more details and links to vendors coming up after the new year.
Happy first new year as a married couple, Ginny and David!
